Ang tagal bago nag-sink in sa akin na magdedefend na pala kami ng thesis. Hindi ko talaga naimagine na dadating ang araw na ito sa buhay ko. At ayun nagdefend na nga kami. Lahat ng stress na naipon ko sa loob ng tatlong buwan, lahat ng paglalakad, pagtakbo, pagtawag, pagteks, pagpapapirma, paghahanap, pag-iisip, pagmamakaawa, pagrarant kay ayn at dohna at hogi, pagdadrama sa therapist kong si kuya rommel (pumepersonal mode pa), pag-ngarag ke jenny, pangtetensyon ni mam armi, lahat ng usok na sinagap ko sa Maynila, lahat ng resibo sa starbucks, lahat ng MRT card na naubos, mga tsinelas na napudpod, fats na naburn (char), lahat ng namiss kong araw na dapat may blush on ako pero hindi ako naglagay (kababawan lang), lahat ng yan.. ngayon sumasabog sa porma ng LAGNAT, UBO, AT SIPON.

Magkakapit kami ng kamay ni AB habang pinapalabas ang Ikalawang Tagpo. Naramdaman ko ang baba ng energy sa loob ng sinehan. Naramdaman kong na-bobore na sila at gusto na nilang bumorlog. Sumalang na kami ni AB. Nagpakilala. Nakita ko na ang mukha ni Ma’am Anne, hindi ko maintindihan kung ano ang ibig sabihin ng pagkunot niya ng noo habang tinitingnan yung concept paper namin sa harap niya. Nairita ba siya sa pelikula namin o kaya naman may PMS siya o kaya naman madilim lang sa theater at malabo lang ang mata niya. Ganon.

Mga 15 secs na katahimikan rin yun matapos ang kaunting palakpakan. Tapos biglang tumunog ang chorva ng mic. Ayun na. Sound epeks. Hinanap ko kung sino yung magsasalita. Si Sir Campos. Siya na never kong naging teacher. At siya na alam kong walang konsepto ng existence ko sa Film Insitute.

At ang sabi nga sa HIMALA, ang HIMALA ay nasa puso ng tao, ang bawat puso ay pugad ng HIMALA.

Ang bungad niya “congratulations”. Tapos non, wala na akong natandaan.

Ay meron pa pala, ayaw ko lang sigurong alalahanin kasi guilty ako. ahahaha. Syempre pinoint out niya ang napakaobvious na weakness ng aming pelikula, ang sound. Na sa tingin ko ay ako ang may kasalanan pero wala ng panahong magsisi kaya go lang nang go. Pero aayusin ko yun pramis, sa June.

Basta masarap pakinggan yung congradulations, nakakaHIGH. Yun yung pakiramdam ko pagkatapos naming i-shoot ang Ikalawang Tagpo, HIGH NA HIGH.

Nagustuhan niya ang cinematography (ehem kuya rommel) at ang production design (ehem asta) at ang direksyon (ehem dohna) at ang score (ehem ayn).

Pero ang pinakagusto ko sa lahat ng nagustuhan niya ay ang sinabi niya tungkol sa kung paano naidikit ng maayos ang buong konsepto ng teatro o ng entablado sa isang 14-minute na pelikula. (May german expressionism at french eklavu pa siyang sinabi.) Natuwa ako kasi somehow lumabas yung puso ng pelikula, yung parte ng puso ko bilang isang inactive na thespian wahahaha..Nahaks. Chochal.

And por dat nais kong pasalamatang muli ang mga kaibigan namin ni AB na tumulong at sumuporta sa aming pelikulang Ikalawang Tagpo. Antayin nyo at magkakaron tayo ng Ikalawang Tagpo. ahaha.

Salamat talaga sa pagpapabentahose. At patawad kung naoverbentahose kayo. Aminin nyo, masaya naman siya.

Oh siya, papahinga muna ang maysakit at may jetlag at may paper na dapat gawin. Baboo!

boredom strikes back

I don’t know if I made a mistake in sending this stranger a message. He’s not really a total stranger because technically I know who he is and the one whom he is related to. Hmm…

Do you ever get this peculiar urge to do something that you don’t really want to do but you just do it anyway because of boredom? Me, I do. Err.

So here’s the story:

Father + Son = never met each other

Son = found father

Son = didn’t want to message Father

Friend = (me) had just messaged Father

I wasn’t even part of the equation.

This morning my friend texted me and said “Mimay, nagmessage ka ba kay (insert name)???”. Hmm… I wanted to deny but I couldn’t, hahaha. So I just said “Ay.” to be safe. Apparently, his dad messaged him through myspace. Lo and behold what was written as the subject: “FROM MIMAY”

TRAIDOR ampotah.

I think I had better not pry into other people’s personal affairs. I think.

Lemon chicken, lumpiang shanghai and a round fancy chocolate cake. That’s what we’re having for noche buena. As I type this, my sister is partying at her boyfriend’s house, my elder brother is at some neighbor’s house having a drink or two, my eldest brother and his wife are locked up in their room (and only god knows what they’re doing), and my mom is in the states, working her ass off on Christmas Eve. It’s thirty minutes to go before Christmas Day. Merry Christmas everyone!

Yeah, I’m updating. Since I’ve already been online for the past three hours, might as well type the time away while I wait for Ampao to finish whatever “stuff” he’s doing online.

Yesterday was a little depressing. My body’s been releasing a great deal of melatonin since the sun refuses to shine. There’s a bit of weird feeling in my heart and my breathing has become quite unusual. I think what I’ve consumed in my body the past month is getting back at me. How dreadful. After all the trans fat and sugar… I’m finally reaping the horrible backlash of my over-eating. Oh, well.

Today was not at all bad. But I almost didn’t go to my Tiongsi class because I could not absorb the 10-page reading on women’s cinema. “I can’t afford to get another 2.5 on our quiz,” I thought to myself. It was funny cuz I was already cursing and hating myself for not being able to focus on the damn thing. But I’d rather get a 2.5 than be marked absent and get a 5 so I still went to class. And to my surprise, I was able to answer all three questions (though the third one sounded utterly stupid).

I’m pretty sure you’re all quite through with all the student shit there is I have to say, but there’s nothing really happening in my life except school and school and school and friends. Hehe.

Anyway, so I watched TP’s Mulan last weekend with Aby, Kix, and Angela. I was able to get Aby and myself in for free, yey! Mulan was OK. It wasn’t a WOW. It was very particularly made for kids, but I think there was a drag in the first act that’s why it seemed a little boring. Of course, as usual, the TP people were great, and Mayen’s Mulan was superb. I really adore her. The whole spectacle was quite a sight to see so I think kids would really like it.

OK, I think I should go now. Hahaha.
